Counseling Services
Do I need counseling?
Sometimes a major life event happens, whether a big change or a traumatic event, and someone in your life recommends reaching out to a mental health professional. Or perhaps you are in a time of transition: into a new career, out of a relationship, even just overwhelmed by a new stage of parenting. If you’ve recognized common responses in your life that you would like to change, counseling is a great first step.
Clients We Serve
- Adults over the age of 18
- Individuals
- Couples
I am licensed to treat residents of Missouri or Kansas virtually through telehealth, and can treat residents of the Kansas City metro in person at my home office.
Treatment Plan
I meet with clients weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Sometimes we meet for just a few sessions, or others up to 12 weeks, depending on your needs and goals in counseling. We will work together to craft goals for your care and frequently re-assess if therapy is helping you to achieve those goals.
Problems We Address
- Anger Management
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Bipolar Disorder
- Domestic Violence
- Infidelity
- Life Transitions
- Loss, Grief and Bereavement
- Marriage Counseling
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Separation Anxiety Disorder
- Spirituality and Religion
Treatment Methods
Through the course of our care we might use several different methods of treatment. I use an integrative approach, which means we might use one or several within a given appointment.
Specializations
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Solutions-Based Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
