Common Questions About Counseling

We will review together how the process works, review confidentiality and consent to treatment and begin to explore the issues or concerns that brought you to seek counseling.

When your first appointment is scheduled an email will be sent to you asking you to complete some  information about your medical and mental health history. You’ll be asked to either email it back before your appointment or to bring it with you to your first session.

I work with some clients for just a few sessions and others for up to 12 weeks depending on their preference, needs and goals in counseling.

I do not prescribe medication. I refer those who may need medication to an appropriate physician provider.

I treat clients virtually through telehealth and in person at my home office in Olathe, Kansas. My home-based office setting is large, comfortable, professional and confidential. Clients park in the drive and access the office area immediately inside the main front entrance. This office space is exclusively used for therapy.

All scheduled sessions must be canceled with at least 24 hours notice. Cancelations or no shows without 24 hours notice are charged the standard session fee. Exceptions may be considered in cases of illness, injury or emergency
